The Prime Ministers also condemned North Korea’s continued destabilizing ballistic missile launches. He said such launches violate relevant UNSC resolutions. Both urged North Korea to comply with its obligations under the UNSCRs and reaffirmed their commitment to the complete denuclearization of North Korea. 

‘Action will be taken against Khalistani supporters’

Candidates for UNSC non-permanent seats 

India and Australia reaffirmed support for each other’s candidature for non-permanent seats in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). India’s candidature for the period 2028-2029 and Australia’s for the period 2029-2030 were fixed. The two Prime Ministers resolved to work together to contribute to the common fight against terrorism, including by taking concrete actions against globally proscribed terrorist entities and combating the financing of terrorism. 

Concern over the humanitarian situation in Ukraine 

In addition the Prime Ministers expressed concern about the conflict and the humanitarian situation in Ukraine. Both reiterated the need for an immediate cessation of hostilities and a peaceful resolution to the conflict. They reiterated that conflict is causing immense human suffering, exacerbating existing vulnerabilities in the global economic system.
