In Gujarat’s Rajkot district, a man and his wife committed suicide by chopping off their heads using a ‘guillotine’-like device so that they could sacrifice their heads. The police gave this information on Sunday. Police said that the couple had made the said ‘guillotine’ equipment at home.
Hemubhai Makwana (38) and his wife Hansaben (35) committed suicide by beheading themselves with the blade of a tool in a hut in their farm in Vinchiya village, Sub-Inspector Indrajitsinh Jadeja of Vinchiya police station said.
He said that the husband and wife executed this plan of suicide in such a way that after their heads were cut off, they rolled down and went to the fire pit. He said that a suicide note has been found on the spot.
Jadeja said, “The couple prepared a fire pit before placing their heads under a guillotine-like device tied with a rope. As soon as they let go of the rope, the iron blade fell on them, which severed their heads and rolled them into the fire pit.
He said that this ritual was done on Saturday night. He said that a suicide note has been recovered from the spot. Family members of the couple said that the two had been performing puja in the hut every day for the past one year.
The official said that the couple has two children, parents and other relatives who live nearby. The official said that the family members came to know about this on Sunday morning and they informed the police.
He said that a suicide note has also been recovered from the couple, in which they have urged their relatives to take care of the parents and children. The officer said that a case of accidental death has been registered and the bodies have been sent for postmortem.
