According to a report in IMBD, after the film Sholay proved to be a blockbuster, director Ramesh Sippy wanted his second film to be exactly like that. For this, he had kept the same artists in his mind who had worked in Sholay. As per reports, he wanted to make it with Dharmendra, Amitabh, Hema and Sanjeev Kumar. Although later Sunil Dutt, Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor, Shatrughan Sinha, Rakhi Gulzar, Parveen Babi did the film. Once again Sippy’s film proved to be a milestone in everyone’s career.
