In view of this, the Central Government has issued instructions to 6 states to monitor the situation at the micro level.

According to the website of the Union Health Ministry, 754 new cases of corona virus infection were reported in India on Thursday (16 March). The total number of active corona cases in the country has reached 4,623. Earlier, on November 12 last year, 734 cases of corona infection were reported in a single day.

Alert issued to these 6 states

An alert has been issued to 6 states by the Central Government regarding the spurt in the cases of Kovid-19. In view of the ever-increasing cases of corona infection in Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Kerala, instructions have been issued by the Union Health Ministry regarding measures for investigation, monitoring and prevention.

Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan told that in the last one week in Maharashtra, cases of infection have increased from 355 to 668. Covid-19 cases in Gujarat have increased from 105 to 279, in Telangana from 132 to 267, in Tamil Nadu from 170 to 258 and in Kerala from 434 to 579. At the same time, cases of infection have increased from 493 to 604 in Karnataka. Bhushan said that the state governments should follow the strategy of test, treat, track, Covid appropriate behavior, vaccination under the five fold strategy.

Why is the increase in corona cases in Maharashtra a headache?

Maharashtra is also ahead in cases of corona infection. Maharashtra had the highest number of Covid-19 cases during all the waves of Corona so far. In a letter written to these 6 states, the Union Health Secretary said that a large number of cases of corona infection are being reported in some states. Which indicates that there is a possible local spread of infection and a risk assessment-based approach should be adopted to avoid it. A total of 2,082 cases of Kovid-19 were registered in a week till 8 March and by 15 March these cases increased to 3,264.

Instructions issued to deal with Kovid-19

Instructions have been issued by the Central Government for genome sequencing, sample collection and local monitoring of corona virus cases for international travelers and to follow Kovid friendly behavior in crowded places. Along with this, it has been said to keep an eye on cases related to variants of Kovid-19, diseases like influenza in health centers.

During this, one patient has also died due to infection in Karnataka, due to which the number of deaths due to corona has increased to 5,30,790. According to the data released by the Central Government on Thursday, a total of 4,41,57,297 people in the country have defeated Corona so far. At the same time, the rate of deaths due to Kovid-19 is only 1.19 percent. The national rate of recovery of patients in the country is 98.80 percent.

According to the website of the Ministry of Health, so far 220.64 crore doses of anti-Kovid-19 vaccines have been administered under the nationwide vaccination campaign in the country.
