COVID-19: Three years ago, on 11 March 2020, the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a global pandemic. Even after three years, the situation has not changed much. Even today, fear remains in the mind regarding Corona. Talking about India, Corona had knocked here in January itself, although it was not named as an epidemic then.
This epidemic had broken the whole world. Even today we are unable to fight it. The last three years have been like a nightmare for the whole world. According to a report, so far about 681 million people have been infected due to this virus, while more than 6.8 million deaths have occurred. These figures show how Corona has caused devastation in the whole world so far. This epidemic started from Wuhan, China.
The effect of this virus was seen on both rich and weak countries. Due to the speed of infection, the systems of many countries collapsed. If the health services became effective due to the virus, its effect was also seen on the birth rate, maternal mortality rate and other diseases. Due to the fear of Corona, the needy people could not get proper treatment and they had to bear the brunt of it. Not only this, children could not get vaccinated against malaria, HIV and other serious diseases. According to a report, the mental health of the people was also affected due to COVID.
Virus will live for a long time
According to the report, more evidence of long-lived COVID has emerged around the world. By the end of 2022, at least 65 million people had experienced this syndrome. The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare estimates that 5-10% of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 will develop prolonged COVID, with symptoms lasting longer than three months.
The epidemic weakened financially
The epidemic has worked to affect economically. The United States alone has spent $4 trillion on COVID. Economists have predicted that in 2025, countries with high infection rates will have the worst effect of the pandemic. The GDP of such countries will decrease by an average of 0.75%. Despite all this, we cannot believe that this epidemic is going to end. In fact, so far no indication of this has been found.
There is still a need to talk openly about Corona. Also some things need to be implemented.
1. Politicians need to speak openly
Our political leaders need to openly communicate with the public that the pandemic is not over. He needs to emphasize that the situation has not changed much. We need to be alert. If our politicians do this, the public will be on alert mode. At the same time, the health system also needs to be greatly strengthened to deal with long-lasting Covid.
2. It is still important to avoid infection
We need to fully accept that Kovid spreads largely through the air. Let us all breathe safe air, which does not contain SARS-CoV-2 as well as other viruses.
3. Embrace new knowledge and technology
We must focus on science and be ready to rapidly adopt new knowledge and products. Along with this, one has to avoid being careless about viral.
