XBB.1.16 Variant In India: In many states of the country, the cases of Coronavirus are increasing again. The XBB.1.16 variant is believed to be responsible for the increasing cases of Kovid. According to INSACOG data, a total of 76 cases of XBB.1.16 variant of Corona have been found. Which may be the reason behind the increase in the recent cases in the country. 30 cases of this variant have been found in Karnataka, 29 in Maharashtra, 7 in Puducherry, 5 in Delhi.
Apart from this, two cases have been found in Telangana and 1-1 in Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh and Odisha. According to Indian SARS- CoV-2 Genomics Consortium (INSACOG) data, the XBB.1.16 variant was first detected in January when two samples tested positive for the variant while a total of 59 samples tested positive in February. So far in March, 15 cases of XBB.1.16 have been found.
Cases increasing with new variant
Some experts have attributed the recent rise in Covid-19 cases to this variant. Dr. Randeep Guleria, former director of AIIMS, said that it seems that the increase in Covid cases is due to the XBB 1.16 variant while influenza cases are increasing due to H3N2. Following Covid-appropriate behavior for both of these can help prevent the spread of the infection. The cases found so far are not serious, so there is no need to panic.
800 more cases found after 126 days
Meanwhile in India on Saturday after 126 days corona virus More than 800 cases of infection were registered. According to the data released by the Union Health Ministry at eight o’clock on Saturday morning, after the arrival of 843 new cases of Kovid-19 in the country, the total number of infected people has increased to 4,46,94,349.

According to the ministry, the number of patients under treatment in the country is 5,839, which is 0.01 percent of the total number of infected. At the same time, the national rate of those recovering from infection is 98.80 percent.
According to the ministry, the total number of people who beat Kovid-19 in India has increased to 4,41,58,161. At the same time, the death rate has been estimated at 1.19 percent. According to the ministry’s website, under the nationwide vaccination campaign, 220.64 crore doses of anti-Covid-19 vaccines have been administered in the country so far.
