Britain: Investigation is being done against Britain’s PM Rishi Sunak, case related to wife Akshata Murthy

Britain: British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak seems to be in trouble. They will be investigated by the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards. Actually, Rishi Sunak’s wife Akshata Murthy is an investor in a child care firm. In such a situation, it will be investigated whether Sunak has properly declared his wife’s stake in the childcare company. Have they violated the rules somewhere. 

According to the information shared through the Commissioner’s website, on April 13, Commissioner Daniel Greenberg has started an investigation on the Prime Minister. Earlier, the opposition parties have raised this issue fiercely. The opposition alleges that Sunak did not disclose his wife’s shareholding during the Register of Interest, which he should have done as an MP.

According to the website, this investigation pertains to paragraph 6 of the Code of Conduct, which has been updated for MPs. It is provided under this code of conduct that one should openly and clearly show relevant interest in any proceedings of the House or its respective committees.

Sunak spokesperson confirms investigation 

Sunak’s wife is the daughter of one of the founders of the Indian IT giant Infosys. She also owns about 0.9% in the company, worth about $600 million based on Monday’s share price. 

Please tell that if Sunak is found guilty in the investigation, then he may be asked to apologize. Along with this, action can be taken against them. In such a situation, it is possible that a committee may suspend or expel him from the membership while taking action against him.
