The opposition alleges that Sunak did not disclose his wife’s shareholding during the Register of Interest, which he should have done as an MP.
According to the website, this investigation pertains to paragraph 6 of the Code of Conduct, which has been updated for MPs. It is provided under this code of conduct that one should openly and clearly show relevant interest in any proceedings of the House or its respective committees.
Sunak spokesperson confirms investigation
Sunak’s wife is the daughter of one of the founders of the Indian IT giant Infosys. She also owns about 0.9% in the company, worth about $600 million based on Monday’s share price.
