Atiq-Ashraf’s murder case reached Supreme Court, demand for investigation of all 183 encounters after 2017

The murder case of UP’s mafia Atiq and Ashraf has now reached the Supreme Court. A public interest litigation has been filed in the Supreme Court demanding an inquiry into the murder of Atiq and Ashraf in police custody. In the petition filed, an inquiry has been demanded under the supervision of a retired judge of the Supreme Court. Also, a demand has been made to investigate 183 encounters in Uttar Pradesh since 2017 by an expert committee under the supervision of a retired judge of the Supreme Court.

This petition has been filed on behalf of advocate Vishal Tiwari. Through the petition, a demand has been made to constitute a committee to investigate the murder of Atiq and his brother. Along with this, the petition has demanded a CBI inquiry into the 2020 Vikas Dubey encounter case. Earlier, the Supreme Court refused to hear a petition raising questions about the security of Mafia Atiq Ahmed. The Supreme Court had refused to give any order on the security of Atiq Ahmed.

Please tell that Atiq Ahmed and his brother were shot dead in Prayagraj on Saturday night. At the time when firing was done on Atiq and his brother, during that time he was talking to the media. Later, the police also arrested the three accused involved in the incident. But after this murder in front of the police, now questions are being raised on the police and the UP government as well. Amidst the questions arising, the UP government has formed a high-level inquiry committee which will investigate the incident.
