Atiq Ahmed Shot with Zigana Pistol: The murder of gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf in front of the camera in police custody has shocked everyone. It is clearly visible in the incident captured on camera that the miscreants are continuously firing without stopping. Actually, this is the specialty of the Jigana pistol which was used in Atiq’s murder. It is claimed that this is the same pistol with which Punjabi singer Sidhu Musewala was murdered last year.
Gigana is an automatic pistol made in Türkiye. It does not heat up quickly, does not burn hands and is safe for the operator. Adjustable sights can be fitted on this pistol. It can fire 15-17 rounds at a time without stopping.
First formed in 2001
This pistol was first manufactured in 2001 by TISAS, a Turkish company. Since then there have been 16 updated models of this pistol. Its 9 mm model is most available in India. Although, it is banned in India but it is supplied illegally through Pakistan.
This pistol is widely used in Turkey, as well as the military of Azerbaijan and Malaysia, the Philippines police and the US Coast Guard.
Supply from Pakistan to India
This pistol is sent to India via Pakistan. There are many gangs active in Punjab who import weapons into India through Pakistan. Nowadays drones are also being used to send weapons.
According to the report, this pistol is made illegally in Pakistan. For this, workshops have been prepared at the local level, where this pistol is made. It is manufactured exactly on the model of Jigana. After this it is smuggled into India. In India it is sold for 6 to 7 lakh rupees. If Atiq’s attackers used three pistols, then they had to spend around Rs 20 lakh for this. Obviously, from where did these pistols come to the attackers. This will also be an important point in the investigation.
This is how Ateeq-Ashraf were killed
Mafia Atiq Ahmed and his brother Khalid Azim alias Ashraf were shot dead outside Colvin Hospital in Prayagraj on Saturday (April 15) in police custody. Both were brought to the hospital for medical examination under police protection.
