According to the Telegraph report, people living and working in Arab countries are finding it difficult to exchange currency. The effect of demonetisation is especially visible in the currency exchange in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Indians are now finding it difficult to exchange riyals and dirhams for rupees there. In fact, after the decision of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the currency exchanges there are now refusing to accept Rs 2000 notes.

Now people are shying away from taking Rs 2,000 note in this country
Let us tell you that on May 19, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announced the withdrawal of Rs 2,000 notes from circulation. The bank has said that these notes will remain in circulation for the time being, but they will have to be deposited in the bank or exchange before 30 September. Tuesday, May 23 was the first day of exchange of Rs 2000 notes in India and on this day there was chaos in many places including Delhi-NCR. People were seen crowding the banks.

‘Difficult to deposit Rs 2000 note in commercial banks’
While UAE dealers are saying that it is difficult for them to deposit Rs 2000 note in commercial banks there, That’s why they are not accepting these notes. In such a situation, it is a matter of great concern for Indians working in UAE. A dealer associated with currency exchange in Dubai said- "After the announcement of the Government of India, 2000 rupee note is not being accepted here, because the trust regarding this currency has decreased now. However, there is no problem with the Rs 500 note."

Was in practice till RBI’s announcement
It has been learned that apart from UAE, Dubai duty free shops present in international airport are also not taking Rs 2000 note for purchase. Earlier there was a note of 2000 rupees in circulation.
